Starting February 1, 2022, Salesforce will begin requiring customers to enable MFA in order to access Salesforce products. MFA is the acronym for Multi-Factor Authentication. Still not sure what MFA is? MFA is an added security measure that basically requires a user to prove their identity with a 2-step login. Luckily, Salesforce has its own MFA product, and it is included as part of your salesforce license. Salesforce MFA is an actual app on mobile phone such as Android and iPhone. You can find the app in your app store on your phone or the App Exchange in Salesforce.

We will be doing the setup for community user license.

  1. From Setup, enter Session Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Session Settings. 2. Under Session Security Levels, make sure that Multi-Factor
  2. Authentication is in the High Assurance category.
  3. Create a contact and create community user using community license.
  4. Create a community (the new name for it is Digital Experiences)
  5. Go to Salesforce Authenticator App.
  6. On the Salesforce login screen, enter a username and password. The Connect Salesforce Authenticator screen displays.
  7. Open Salesforce Authenticator and tap Add an Account. The app displays a two-word phrase. The two words are random two words. For example, the two words could be ‘frozen water’. Here, the username and the two words are unique identifers to link the two applications together (Salesforce on the browser and the autheticator app).
  8. On the Connect Salesforce Authenticator screen, enter the phrase in the Two-Word phrase field, then click Connect.
  9. In Salesforce Authenticator, verify that the request details are correct, then tap Connect.
  10. Now go to Community URL.
  11. Type in username and password and Click Log in
  12. Open the phone and click Approve
